How iTypeTests Works
Understanding your typing speed and accuracy score calculation
Standard WPM Calculation
We use the international standard formula for calculating Words Per Minute (WPM). A "word" is mathematically defined as 5 characters, including spaces. This ensures fair scoring regardless of the text complexity.
For government exams like SSC and CPCT, we also calculate "Net Speed" which deducts penalties for errors, giving you a realistic exam score prediction.
Select Mode
Choose from 1-min, 2-min, 5-min tests, or specific exam patterns like SSC CHSL.
Type & Test
Type the highlighted text. Mistakes are shown in real-time. Focus on accuracy over raw speed.
Get Analysis
View detailed analytics including WPM, accuracy %, error breakdown, and progress trends.
